Numismatics is part of the historical studies. Coins offer a variety of helpful information on the economies of the cities that minted coins, as well as on other aspects of public and religious life. The course aims to the familiarization of the students with this academic field.

After the completion of the lectures students will be able to recognize and date coins, to look up on relevant literature, and examine coins into their historical and economic frame.
